Company was founded in Chapel Hill in 1972. ITIC became
the leading title insurer in North Carolina (based on premiums
written). The company has 27 issuing offices located throughout
the State and employs a staff of experienced underwriting
attorneys who are always available to assist real property
practitioners in the efficient completion of their transactions.
The home office also houses the staff of Investors Title
Exchange Corporation which facilitates 1031 tax free exchanges
and the Company's commercial services division which provides
escrow services and commercial underwriting. The Trust Service
serves as investment manager, custodian and trustee for
individuals, families, pension funds and foundations in

Title Insurance
David was born in Salem, Ohio and is a graduate of Culver Military Academy. He attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English with honors and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. After a tour of duty as an officer in the U.S. Navy, David returned to UNC and earned his Juris Doctor in 1978. As a partner in a Hendersonville, North Carolina law firm, David focused on real estate and probate matters. He joined Investors Title Insurance Company in 1986. David is the author of supplements to North Carolina Real Estate Title Searches by Lilona and Gregory Schiro, and has been a seminar speaker on real property matters for Wake Forest University, The Mortgage Bankers Association of the Carolinas, and the North Carolina Paralegal Association. He is a past president of the North Carolina Land Title Association and a board-certified specialist in Real Property Law (residential transactions).

Drew was born in Kittery, Maine, but grew up outside of Creedmoor, North Carolina. He attended the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 1985. Drew continued his education at North Carolina Central University School of Law where he received a Juris Doctor cum laude in 1989. He then went on to receive his L.L.M. from the University of Miami in Real Property Finance and Development in 1991. Drew served as an Adjunct Professor at North Carolina Central University School of Law and taught Real Property Finance and Land Transfer from 1991-1992. In 1992, Drew joined a Burlington, North Carolina law firm as a staff attorney heading up their Residential Real Estate Department. In 1994, Drew opened up his own practice in Mebane, NC, concentrating in residential and commercial real property law. Drew joined Investors Title as a Title Attorney in 1998. He is a board-certified specialist in Real Property Law (residential transactions), has been a speaker at continuing education seminars for attorneys and realtors, and is a contributing author to the real property section of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
Ryan was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1997, with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Ryan received his Juris Doctor cum laude from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond in 2001. Prior to joining Investors Title in 2003, Ryan was a transactional attorney with a focus on real estate, business and health care law for Adams, Porter & Radigan, Ltd., in McLean, Virginia. As a Title Attorney in the North Carolina Home Office, Ryan supports North Carolina approved attorneys by answering title related underwriting questions. He has been a speaker at continuing education seminars and has authored several articles for the real property section of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. Ryan is a member of the real property section of the North Carolina Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in both North Carolina and Virginia.
Marc grew up in the mountains of Hendersonville, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Relations in 1993. Marc continued his education at Campbell University receiving both his Juris Doctor and Master of Business Administration in 2001. Prior to joining Investors, Marc was an attorney with a general practice firm in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. There he focused on residential real estate closings and real property issues. He is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and is also an Eagle Scout. Marc came on board with Investors Title in 2003 working in the Underwriting Support Unit as a Title Attorney and Research Specialist where he was responsible for solving underwriting issues and performing legal research relative to the development and revision of underwriting guidelines. Marc joined the ITIC Legal Department in 2006 and supports the North Carolina approved attorneys and the ITIC North Carolina branch offices. He is also a contributing author to the real property section of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly and a speaker at many of the Investors Title seminars.
Charity grew up in Marion, North Carolina. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2001. She returned to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her Juris Doctor in 2004. Prior to joining Investors Title, Charity was an attorney with a real estate firm in Asheville, North Carolina. There she focused on residential real estate closings and real property issues. She is a member of the North Carolina State Bar. Charity joined the ITIC Legal Department in 2007 and supports the North Carolina approved attorneys and the ITIC North Carolina branch offices. She is also a contributing author to Investors Title newsletters and seminar materials. Charity is a speaker at many of the Investors Title seminars.

Mike was born in Fairfield, California, and grew up in an Air Force family. In 1995, Mike graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. Mike attended Creighton University School of Law in Omaha, Nebraska, and graduated cum laude in 1998. During law school, Mike worked as a title examiner for a small title insurance agent and later as a law clerk for the regional office of a national title insurance company. After joining Investors Title in 1998 as a Title Attorney, Mike was promoted to Vice President – Compliance Officer. In this position, Mike oversees compliance for out-of-state operations and serves as lead attorney for the Underwriting Support Group at the Company’s headquarters located in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Mike is a frequent speaker on a number of title insurance topics and compliance matters affecting title agents, lenders, and attorneys. He is also a contributing author to the real property section of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
Robert is a native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He earned his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992 and his Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Virginia in 1988. As a member of the North Carolina State Bar, Robert has practiced law for fifteen years. Prior to joining Investors Title, he spent six years in private practice in Chapel Hill and Raleigh, North Carolina. His practice concentrated in civil litigation, criminal, real estate and land condemnation. Robert also has a number of years experience as Assistant District Attorney, Assistant Attorney General for the North Carolina Department of Justice, and Deputy Counsel for the North Carolina State Bar. Robert joined Investors Title Insurance Company in March 2008 as a Title & Regulatory Attorney. In this role, he oversees the Company’s insurance licensing and regulatory requirements and provides title underwriting support for the Company’s National Markets.

Carol grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. She received a music degree from Temple University, and her Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University. She spent ten years living overseas with her husband and four children, teaching at foreign universities. She has worked in the title insurance industry since 1993, specializing in like-kind exchange transactions. Carol has contributed to North Carolina Lawyers Weekly and has conducted numerous seminars for attorneys, realtors, and CPAs. Carol joined Investors Title in 1997, where she now serves as Vice President-Title Attorney of the Commercial Services Division, which coordinates commercial real estate transactions nationwide. She is also Executive Vice President of Investors Title Exchange Corporation (ITEC), facilitating like-kind exchange transactions. Carol is a member of the tax and real property sections of the North Carolina Bar Association and American Bar Association. She is also a member of the Federation of Exchange Accommodators (FEA), Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women, International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, and serves on the Advisory Board for the Meredith College Paralegal Program.

Tonya was born in Bethesda, Maryland, but grew up in Shelby, North Carolina. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Political Science. Tonya joined Investors Title in 1995, and has worked in the Lender Relations Department, Underwriting Support Unit, and later joined the Commercial Services Division in 2003. She attended the Evening Program at North Carolina Central University, while working at Investors Title, and received her Juris Doctor in December 2000. Tonya is a member of the real property section of the North Carolina Bar Association as well as a member of the Urban Land Institute, and the Triangle Commercial Real Estate Women. She is also a regular contributor to North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.
Anna Gregory grew up in Salisbury, North Carolina. She graduated from Wake Forest University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Anna Gregory continued her education at Wake Forest, receiving her Juris Doctor from the School of Law in 1999. Prior to joining Investors Title, Anna Gregory worked as a real estate associate with Isaacson, Isaacson, & Sheridan, LLP for four years. She has also worked on real estate issues for a large corporation and has experience as a title attorney. Anna Gregory is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association. She has conducted numerous seminars for attorneys, realtors, and CPAs. She is also a member of the Raleigh Jaycees.
Steve was born in Gilmer, Texas, and graduated from high school in Tullahoma, Tennessee in 1977. Steve attended Wake Forest University where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, with Honors in History in 1981. In 1984, Steve earned a Juris Doctor degree from University of North Carolina School of Law, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, graduating with Honors, and earning membership in the Order of the Coif.
Prior to joining Investors Title Insurance Company in October, 1992, Steve was engaged in the private practice of law in Raleigh, NC, for 18 years, with a practice emphasis on commercial litigation, including real property and bankruptcy litigation, corporate and commercial law, and creditor's rights law, including almost all aspects of commercial lender representation.
Steve manages the Claims Department, and in that capacity develops and refines department policies and procedures, allocates files among staff, acts as a legal resource for the staff and provides strategic input on staff files. In addition, Steve retains and supervises outside counsel on behalf of Investors Title Insurance Company and its insureds regarding claims and coverage matters, and administers assigned claim files. Steve also assists in identifying and resolving claims, risk management and underwriting issues for the company, and participates as a speaker and writer in employee, agent and attorney education regarding claims prevention and management on behalf of the Company.
Mike grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. He attended the Ohio Northern University and received a dual major in Accounting and Finance. In 1986, Mike continued his education at the University of Toledo, College of Law and earned his Juris Doctor in 1989. As Senior Claims Counsel for Investors Title, Mike administers complex claims where he applies his extensive bankruptcy, real property, and litigation experience. Prior to his employment with Investors Title, Mike was a partner at Friedman and Rummell Co., LPA in Youngtown, Ohio, from 1989 - 2004. He also was a shareholder of Metro Land Title Agency, Inc. Mike is a member of the North Carolina and the Orange County Bar Associations. Mike grew up in Poland, Ohio, but currently resides in Apex, North Carolina.
Elizabeth grew up in Chicago, IL. She attended the University of Richmond, in Richmond, VA and received a Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Health. In 1998, Elizabeth continued her education at the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond, earning her Juris Doctor, cum laude, in 2001. Prior to joining Investors Title, she worked as a Litigation Attorney at Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzferald, LLP in McLean, VA. Elizabeth is a member of the bar in Virginia, North Carolina and the District of Columbia.
Troy grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. He attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh, North Carolina and received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1997. Troy continued his education at Campbell University, earning his Juris Doctor, in 2000. Prior to joining Investors Title, he was a founding partner in the law firm Crawford, Christopher & Johnson, PLLC. The practice focused on real estate litigation, transactional work and development. Troy is a member on the real property section of the North Carolina Bar Association. Troy is also a member of the Garner Mid-Day Rotary, the Colonial Baptist Church and a founding member of the Garner Revitalization Association.
Pat grew up in Racine, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1973 with a B.A. in Political Science. After graduation she worked in rural housing for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Wisconsin, Washington, D.C., and North Carolina. She later attended North Carolina Central University School of Law and earned her Juris Doctor in 1995. She has closed real estate loans along the entire eastern coast of North Carolina on property HUD acquired through foreclosure. She has also practiced real estate law in Raleigh, Durham and Orange Counties.
